Kazakhstani Delegation of the Committee on financial monitoring studies the activity of financial intelligence of Belarus

On December 4-7 the delegation of the Committee on financial monitoring of the Ministry of finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan went to Belarus with working visit.   

Kazakhstani delegation studied the basic functioning of the national system on combating legalization of criminal incomes and financing of terrorism, practical aspects of the activity of Belarus financial intelligence.

 

In particular, the management of the Belarus Department of financial monitoring and representatives of Kazakhstani financial intelligence discussed the issues concerning combating legalization of criminal incomes and terrorism financing.  During the meeting the head of the Department Alexander Maksimchenko informed the Kazakh colleagues about the basic trends of the activity of financial intelligence of Belarus. They considered the issues on interaction and exchange of information in The Eurasian Group on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism (EAG), Kazakhstan and Belarus are the members f this organization along with 7 states. 

 

In the nearest future the delegation will meet the representatives of law-enforcement and other state bodies of the republic concerning combating legalization of illegally-gained incomes and terrorism financing.

 

The department of financial monitoring of Belarus was founded in 2003. Since that time the financial intelligence has actively been developed, it is promoted by the membership in EAG and Egmont Group, informal organization uniting financial intelligences of the world.

 

The financial intelligence of Kazakhstan was founded in 2008. The experience of Belarus is of absolute interest to Kazakhstan.
